Yoga therapy

Yoga therapy has been used in India for thousands of years to help heal many illnesses and physical injuries. It utilises an integrated mind-body approach for restoring balance  and functioning to the physical (musculoskeletal), physiological (digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, endocrine, and immune systems), and mental and emotional systems. Using a combination of yoga practices helps to restore the body and emotions to full health when illness is present. Yoga is most effective when all sessions are tailored to a specific ailment or injury. 

Yoga therapy assists the system of the body to function as efficiently, effectively, and naturally as possible. The aim is not simply to help heal the specific symptoms but to target the cause of the ailment and to help recovery.
Yoga therapy may be used to:

  • establish more functional breath and movement patterns
  • reduce physical and mental suffering
  • improve quality of life
